While I have shared with you previously some of my favorite homemade cleaners to help save money, I’m always on the lookout for other ways to save, and other ways to keep my home sparkling clean. The good news is you are in luck. I found a few others that I tried out and tweaked the recipe a bit to get the results that I was looking for.
Homemade Dishwashing Detergent
This one will surprise you a little with what is used.
- 10 packets of unsweetened lemonade
1 1/2 cup of Kosher Salt
2- 2 1/2 cups of Washing Soda
2 1/2 cup of Borax
Container for storage
Add all the ingredients to the container you are going to use for storage, either stir or shake it up to get it completely mixed up. When washing your dishes use about a tablespoon to a tablespoon and a half.
Homemade All Purpose Cleaning Spray
If you love to have one cleaner on hand that is helpful all around the house, then you will love this all purpose spray.
- 2 tsp washing soda
1/3 cup vinegar
1/3 tsp dish soap
2 1/2 tsp Borax
2 1/2 cups hot water
spray bottle
You want to be sure to add the borax in first followed by the vinegar. You will see a lot of foam, so wait for the foam to go down. Then add in the dish soap, followed by the hot water. After everything is in, shake up the bottle and you are ready to give it a try.

Tub and Shower Cleaner
This has got to be one of the easiest recipes around, and it works wonders in the bathroom.
14 oz white vingar
12 oz dish soap
Heat up the vinegar for about 1.5 to 2 minutes and add in the dish soap and shake.
